The Hand holding back the Red Dragon

In July 2014, my 2yo son was diagnosed with leukaemia. This has dramatically altered the course of our lives, and has had a deep and profound impact on our young family’s future. This piece is in some way my response to my son’s journey.
The red steel represents a dragon, the blood cancer beast that grips my son. The rope: the chemotherapy, vital drugs that control this beast. But deeper then all this, beyond our earthly abilities, is something greater. I believe God cares deeply for our condition and works all things for His purpose. The hand is His, holding back the dragon, and it is He who will ultimately win this fight.
